Spring Eagle Show at Stuart Island
A Big Animal Encounter Like No Other
Each spring, nature puts on a show you’ll never forget — and Big Animal Encounters takes you front row.
Welcome to the Eagle Show, a spectacular seasonal event where hundreds of bald eagles gather over the rugged waters of Stuart Island, British Columbia. Drawn by the annual hake run, these powerful birds flock to the island to feast on fish trapped in the swirling tidal currents — a feeding frenzy that fills the sky with motion, sound, and raw natural energy.
From the deck of our vessel, you'll witness:
🦅 Dozens—sometimes hundreds—of bald eagles diving and soaring in synchronized chaos
🌊 Rushing tidal waters funneling hake into narrow channels, sparking the feeding event
📸 Unmatched opportunities for wildlife photography in a stunning coastal setting
🚤 Expert-guided tours with knowledgeable crew sharing the ecological story behind the spectacle
This is more than a wildlife sighting — it’s a springtime phenomenon, and one of the most concentrated gatherings of eagles you’ll ever see in the wild.
Spots are limited, and nature waits for no-one.
